Mark Your Calendar For The Parada del Sol Parade On February 11th 2012!

What Is The Parada del Sol Parade?

Begun in 1953, the annual Parada del Sol Parade has the distinction of being known as the World's Largest Horse Drawn Parade. There will be nearly 150 parade entries marching up Scottsdale Road. Immediately after the Parada del Sol Parade there's a big party called Trail's End.

When Is The Parada del Sol Parade?

The Parada del Sol takes place on Saturday, February 11, 2011 beginning at 10 a.m.

Where Do I Go To See The Parade?

The parade route will run north on Scottsdale Road from Oak to Indian School Road. The Trails End celebration, a huge block party for all ages, will be in Old Town Scottsdale on 1st Avenue between Brown and Scottsdale Roads. Trails End features a Kid's Area with games, pony rides and food vendors, a petting pen, Old West gunfights, trick roping and more. will be in Old Town Scottsdale on 1st Avenue between Brown and Scottsdale Roads.

The Arizona Department of Transportation usually provides detailed motorist information, including any travel or road restrictions, for this event. Call 5-1-1, then *7. The call is free.

Do I Need Tickets?

The Parada del Sol Parade doesn't require tickets -- it's free. So is entry to the Trail's End celebration. If you are looking for tickets to the Parada del Sol Rodeo, that's at a different time and place than the parade. You can purchase advance tickets for the rodeo at the Trail's End celebration. Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk
Thursday, December 29, 7-9pm

The Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk will once again bring some warm, Arizona-style hospitality and artistry to the streets of the Scottsdale Arts District on Thurs., Dec. 29 from 7-9pm. The 14th annual event is hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA) in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale in celebration of the annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Football Classic.

Dozens of fine art galleries will be open to the public during Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk, hosting receptions and artists of every style. Among the galleries with special happenings that evening are Bonner David, Touchstone, Colores, Trailside and Blue Rain Contemporary.

The Scottsdale Gallery Association’s new YEA! – Young & Emerging Artists program will feature an artist demonstration at the northwest corner of Main Street & Marshall Way near the famed “Jackknife.” Sales of hot java from Shine Coffee and delectable desserts from Cafe Forte will help raise funds for YEA!, which also benefits the nonprofit SGA’s Arts Education Fund. As always, there are many fantastic eateries nearby that make “ArtWalk’s Recommended Restaurants” list.

Live music on the streets will feature classic folk-rock by Ronnie Glover & Jack Alves, new bluegrass by John Burton & Friends, jazz pianist Michael Broyles, the singer-songwriter showcase Soliloquies featuring Josh Foster and Angela Leavitt, and more. There are also prize giveaways and other special doings to be found as one “ArtWalks the Line.”

The Scottsdale ArtWalk is located in the Scottsdale Arts District, featuring dozens of fine art galleries just west of Scottsdale Rd. along Main Street and on Marshall Way north of Indian School Road to Fifth Avenue. There’s lots of free parking and free trolley or carriage rides to all corners of the Arts District.
