The Best Park in Tucson

I have lived in Tucson, Arizona for a total of thirty two years. I'm not sure if there is a park in this town that I have not been to. Most parks here are average with a few soccer fields, a kids' play area, and a baseball diamond or two. Most have quite a few trees. A few even have lakes. In spite of not having any sports fields or play areas, the best park in Tucson has much more.

Agua Caliente ParkAgua Caliente park is the best park in Tucson. It is located on the northeast side of Tucson in Tanque Verde Valley.

Directions to the best park in Tucson: From Houghton and Tanque Verde, go east to Soldier Trail, north to Roger, and east to the park entrance.

Agua Caliente Park, Tucson's best park, has so much to offer. One of Agua Caliente Park's best assets is its natural spring which feeds a small lake. Surrounded by lots of trees and containing over 100 acres in a somewhat rural area creates an ideal environment to act as a natural preserve. Wildlife thrives here. Herons, turtles, and many species of duck can be seen at any time. Hawks fly over and fish grow larger than a man's arm. Fishing is strictly prohibited. Nature trails stretch across the 100 plus acres all in the beautiful setting at the base of the Catalina Mountains. Agua Caliente Park is the best park in Tucson.

In addition, there is an historic ranch house and an Art Gallery. Many people come here to play, to walk, or just to gaze and the beautiful setting. But many others come to relax. I rarely visit the best park in Tucson without seeing someone reading a book or taking pictures of the lake, the sunset, or the wildlife.

At the best park in Tucson, you will not have soccer games or baseball games, but I prefer it that way. There's a lot less noise. It's not the noise from kids that bother me, rather the over-zealous parents. I know, I am one. When I want to watch my kids play soccer or some other sport there are many parks I can go to. When I want to relax, maybe have a BBQ, read a book, see wildlife, take a walk, or even a nap I go to the best park in Tucson, Agua Caliente Park.

I hope to see you there. If you'd like to see a link the official Agua Caliente Park web site go here: ftp://www.pima.gov/wwwroot/nrpr/eeduc/interpretive/aguacal.htm.
