the North Forty is now the "Cadillac Lounge" as Kelly says, "there selling skin." Are people really that put out that there is a strip club in town?

I'm 53 and female, I don't have a problem with a strip bar anywhere. They have their rules at the North Forty concerning ID and no colors etc. My husband used to go to one, it was fine with me. I knew a stripper once, she made good money, came from a good family and wasn't a 'bad' kind of person they get labelled with. It doesn't matter where a strip club is put, someone will complain. If you don't like it, don't go there, go past. There is nothing in Kelowna anymore for male entertainment since the Willow shut down years ago. It was around for years.... Hell, Slack Alice's in Penticton has strippers, they do great community fundraisers each year. Women even go to Slacks for a drink with their girlfriends or husbands/boyfriends.

Guess it depends who you talk to. They passed the screening and were issued a liquour licence. I'm sure they pay their taxes, utilities and suppliers. As long as they abide by the laws there's nothing wrong with them being there. Parking lot looked full from the video so I'm guessing a lot of people don't think there's anything wrong with the club.

Bottom line ... if you don't like it, stay home.

I also have no problem with it. With two of the three strip bars down town now closed (Willow & the Zoo gone..its just Cheetah's left now, right?) having a strip club in Rutland may attract more business into the area - a night out with friends a person may notice stores in the area they didn't know were there. Also, wasn't there wet t-shirt nights at the Forty before? It's a good thing that they're paying their adult entertainment now lol

Im not against strip bars as well but for it being the north forty Im not too keen on, especially when it is a restaurant (pub) that serves actual food. Not alot of people like to see certain areas of women while they eat, especially myself its kinda sick actually. and once the pool league starts up again, guuna have to deal with all the crazy drunks there while to enjoy playing pool, will be very hard.

I don't have a problem with it, either, although I doubt I will ever go there. Just not my scene any more. The music volume would probably drive me nuts now and I prefer to be able to converse with the staff and people I am with these days.

I spose if someone has issues with any adult entertainment establishment, they could always come up with the cash to buy them out.

Weren't there crazy drunks in there before? The only time I went to the Forty was about four years ago and it had quite the patrons then. I don't really think that a few peelers will make that huge of a difference? ...Maybe it was just the night I went in there

Also, i'm pretty sure that the CADILLAC logo is a copyright infringement (same font etc)

Don't like it... don't go.

I like the idea of moving some of the crowd away from downtown to reduce the enormous # of people that flood the street when all the bars shutdown at the same time. May help reduce some problems from that many drunk people in a small area. But IMO they should be allowed to stay open all night. Wont have the huge dump of everyone at the same time on the street. And I don't even go to them anymore.

Used to go to the packing house pub often, but the last few times a while back they had live bands... playing so loud you had to YELL at someone 1 ft away to try and talk to them. Let that happen once more and I have not been back since. Other then the occasional lunch.

Wont end up going to the north 40 either other then just to "see" for some kicks. But I don't see the problem with another strip joint.

Right on! I've never been to the North 40, but if it's anything like "the croft" in PG...

I can't remember the name of the peeler bar that I went to in Kelowna with the brother in law a few winters ago (no really, I can't remember it! The...err...interesting footprints leading back to his place in the snow do dictate we were there, but other than that...)

No matter where you go, there will be skin trades!

Many, many years ago they even had peelers at the Totem Hotel in sleepy little old Peachland!! People went or people stayed away. Whatever fills yer boots.

I have gone many times and it was no different then most other bars, actually I liked the atmosphere there, good service. Haven't been since it was a strip joint so don't know how it is there now. The food was pretty good. We used to go and have supper there.

If run correctly I dont see why it should be treated any differently than any other bar. I hope all works out for the owners.

So you drive by and see Motorcycles in the parking lot and ASSUME there is affiliation???? Get your facts straight!!! This idea has been tossed around with the owner for a couple of years. He just found someone with the money to back up an idea! The no gang colors policy has been on the door for about 8 1/2 months now. I was there when it was printed off of the computer!
Caddilac Lounge, when you google it, is also in Toronto and (I beleive) Calgary. Go in, say hello! Its not the trash joint you think it is. Gawd the same daytime bartender is still there that has been there for 3 years now, and was at the Corner Pin for MANY years before that. Never seen that parking lot with that kind of activity, unless there was an event going on. Bad decisions,,,IMO,,,,,on who was let go from there, BUT good on them for runnin with an idea!

I dunno. Will the pool or dart league even go back in there? And, I see that their volleyball court is half of last year's size. I think all they have done is chased away their old clientele and brought in a new set of clientele. Whether they are going to make more money or not, time will tell.
