More Information

Summerland Seniors Village is a campus of care, located in Summerland, next to the Medical Centre. This Okanagan-style seniors’ community offers 112 Residential Care Rooms and 120 Independent/Assisted Living suites. Set on a bluff with magnificent views of Lake Okanagan, community members enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. With Assisted Living and Residential Care, Summerland Seniors Village is able to offer seniors the ability to ‘age in place’. This is also for couples, enabling them to stay together in the same facility as their care needs change over the years.

Independent/Assisted Living Suites

This is for residents who wish to maintain their independence, knowing assistance is available when they need it. Independent/Assisted Living residents need to be Self Directing, and they also need to be mobile (they may use walker and/or wheelchairs as long as they are able to transfer). This is ideal for couples as well as singles.

  • Independent/Assisted Living suites are studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom suites – many with spectacular views
  • All suites are well appointed and pleasingly decorated
  • Furnishings include: kitchenette with bar fridge, fixtures and curtains
  • Bathrooms are large and are configured for easy access with higher toilets, and walk in showers
  • One-step emergency call bells in every suite: living area and bathroom. Pendants are also available

Independent/Assisted Living Amenities

  • A warm, elegant central dining room with two meals included every day
  • Bistro gathering area, where residents and guests can enjoy a beverage and snack with family or friends
  • Lounges and outdoor areas offer gathering places or a quiet retreat
  • Library and internet lounge
  • Country kitchen to bake a batch of cookies, or fry an egg
  • Bus trips and outings allow residents to access their favourite shops in eclectic Summerland, as well as travel to unique locations and attractions
  • The General Store is open for business, supplying fresh milk, bread, cereal and a variety of other items
  • Freedom spa tub

Residents are encouraged to bring familiar belongings and decorations to create an atmosphere that is familiar to them and to their families.

Granfondo 160km

Some cyclists will ride casually. Others will race. The beauty of the Granfondo category is that everyone will finish in Penticton with a smile on his/her face. This category is for recreational to advanced riders.

The Granfondo category includes a 160km scenic route along parts of Lake Okanagan and Skaha Lake; more than 1,000m of elevation gain, and alongside some of B.C.'s most beautiful vineyards.  Riders will travel through Penticton, Naramata, Summerland, Okanagan Falls, Oliver and Kaleden, passing 34 of the Okanagan's finest wineries.

For the Granfondo course map, click here.

Each Granfondo participant will receive the following:

  • A fully supported and traffic-controlled ride on some of the most scenic roads in Western Canada
  • Timing chips for all participants. You'll be able to accurately track your ride time following the race
  • Full mechanical support throughout the duration of the ride. We'll get you back to the finish-line safe and sound

  • Pre- and post-event activities and entertainment for you and your family, including the Granfondo Cycling Expo, a complimentary beer at the Tree Brewing beer garden, official Granfondo Wine Tasting, and more...
  • A Valley First Granfondo Axel Merckx Okanagan (VFGFAMO) commemorative piece to recognize your tremendous achievement on the day. Let's face it, cycling 160km is not easy!
