Festival of Trees at the Victoria Empress Now Till January 06, 2012

In it's 20th Year the Victoria Festival of Trees at the Victoria Empress Hotel is the unofficial kick off for the Christmas festivities in Victoria.

Local Businesses, Organizations and Individuals enter the Festival by decorating their trees in their own "special ways" some funny, some serious, some beautifully some just wacky, but all for a Pfanntastic Cause.

People are encouraged to enter their ballots for their favourite tree(s) and when they do, are asked (but not required) to make a 2 dollar donation to the BC Children Hospital Foundation.

Last Year this fun and family friendly event raised over $ 110,000, and as you can well imagine, it is hard to find a better cause than helping the BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

So if You want to have a little Pfanntastic Family Fun between now and January 06, be sure to visit the Empress Hotel (open 24 / 7) and cast your ballot for your Favourite Tree in this years Festival of Trees at the Victoria Empress. your family and the BC Children Hospital Foundation will thank you for it.

Microsoft Coming To Victoria BC January 2012,

Anytime a Global company decides to open up shop in Victoria BC it confirms that Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island is a great place to do business.

But when Microsoft announced that they will be opening a New and Major Gaming Design Studio in Victoria Starting January 2012....... the local buzz was almost instantly felt around town.

In it's recent announcement, Microsoft offered as one of their reasons behind the decision to come to Victoria it's obvious proximity to Redmond (Microsoft headquarters) but most importantly to all of us that call Victoria Home......
Microsoft considered the "liveability" of Victoria as a key advantage for them to entice the best and brightest in global gaming design and production to join Microsoft here in our part of Paradise.....(Victoria BC).

Microsoft's New Game Design Studio might eventually employ 60 people, and will be located in Downtown Victoria in a Former Provincial Government building on Wharf street, within Eyeshot of the Olympic Mountain Range in Washington State (and the Microsoft Home office).

With the addition of Mircosoft to Greater Victoria's High Tech Companies, it is not unlikely that others will follow..... Who will be next....?

Victoria Santa Parade Kicks of the Holiday Season November 26, 2011.

The unofficial launch of the holiday season in Victoria BC is today, with a busy day full of Fun Family Events all over Downtown Victoria and ends with the Santa Parade.

Why not Start the Day with a visit to the 20th Festival of Trees at the Fairmont Empress Hotel and Victoria Convention Centre, vote for your favourite tree(s) and help out the community.

at 4.00 pm be sure to be at Centennial Square for the official lighting of the Large Sequoia Christmas Tree, complete with music, treat and family fun entertainment.

at 5.45 pm Santa will arrive and tour the downtown area starting from the legislature buildings along Government Street and Santa, complete with his helpers will be sharing milk and cookies near Capital Iron at the completion of the Island Farms Sponsored event. (donations to the mustard seed food bank would be greatly appreciated).
