The Homer Planning Department and consulting group USKH Inc. will be holding an open house and workshop on the proposed Homer Spit Comprehensive Plan.
The open house is 3-5 p.m. today in the Land's End Resort Quarter Deck on the Spit, followed by a workshop from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The plan describes future development and recommends public improvements for this recreational, tourist, commercial and wildlife area. Issues faced include traffic congestion, parking and demands for public services. The expected date for the plan's completion is in the spring of 2010. A project Web site is at
