According to RealtyTrac.com, a foreclosure listing service,
Alaska has one of the lowest rates of foreclosure in the nation.
There are currently 175 foreclosure properties in the state: one in every 1,573 housing units received a foreclosure filing in November, 2011.
The overall national figure is much higher: one in every 579 units received a foreclosure filing in November, 2011.
Within Alaska, Anchorage has the highest number, with 124 new foreclosures.
The Mat-Su Valley is second with 30.
The entire Kenai Peninsula ranks third with 10 new foreclosures currently.
