Dody Kettler - Prudential Vista Jack White - Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska REALTOR I would like to introduce a new member of the Active Rain team. Dody Kettler is a Realtor with Prudential Vista Jack White serving Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska. Relocating to Wasilla or Palmer, Alaska?

Wasilla and Palmer Alaska are approximately 40 miles northeast of Anchorage, Alaska in the beautiful Matanuska-Susitna Valley. Both Wasilla and Palmer, with a population of 6,500 and 6,900, respectively, have retained a wonderful small town feel despite progressive growth. Wasilla is considered the retail and commercial hub of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in addition to being a bedroom community of Anchorage with approximately 34% of the residents commuting to Anchorage. Wasilla is also home to the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and the Tesoro Iron-Dog 2000, the world's longest snowmobile race.

Palmer, Alaska began as one of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal projects. In 1935, 205 families from the upper mid-west arrived in the newly established Matanuska Colony. Each family drew lots for 40 acre tracts of land from which they were expected to develop agriculturally. Palmer is the only Alaskan community that developed from an agricultural lifestyle. Although a number of Palmer residents commute to Anchorage, the city is coming into its own. Since 2000, more than $100MM in public and private sector new construction money has poured into Palmer. It's also home to the world famous (to Alaskan's anyway) Alaska State Fair.

Welcome to Active Rain, Dody. You'll thank Jesse and Kathy, if you haven't already.

Dody,

Welcome to AR.  It is a great way to blog.  Blog to get points, comment to get points, Post phots to localism to get points, link to your site to get points, invite others to join active rain, get points.  Points move you up as the featured agent in your area.  But by being a consistent blogger may get you clients and recognized in your area.

Terrific, a military wife - you'll have to introduce her to the Military Relocations Group and help her get up to speed so she can be in the Military Directories.  Nice Introduction.  I should have tagged you for a Hidden Gem so you could introduce her to that group.  Heck, maybe Melissa would let you "in" anyway!

Welcome Dody! I will head on over to say hi on your blog - Jesse, great job on the intro :)

Jesse & Kathy - What a great introduction for Dody!  My wife Lisa and I work as a team with RE/MAX UNITED in Cary, NC. Lisa's brother and his family live in North Pole, AK.  When Lisa spoke with them last, they were having a -40degrees day.  My hat's off to all of you guys for doing business in that kind of climate!

Best Wishes,

Kelsie,

I love Alaska, I went there when I was pregnant to get out of the heat of Florida. I would love a cabin in the middle of nowhere.

Mirian - I'll have to defer that question to Dody - I borrowed the pictures from her website to showcase her Palmer listings.

Kelly - Thanks... I'm sure she would love the support.

Frank- Thank you.  I think she will be a great addition to the Alaska Rainers.

Cynthia - We'll be around in NC in a few years, that's for sure.

Tony & Darcy - Thanks for stopping by.

Lori - There are a ton of benefits to AR and I hope she will take advantage of them all.

Hi, Christina - It was the least I could do for a fellow 'Rainer.

Derrick - Thanks for visiting.

Russ - Without a doubt one of the greatest benefits is the Google Juice, huh?

Duane - You'll have to thank Kathy for the Spouses Selling Houses logo... that was her brainchild.

Hi, Colleen - :)  You so close... you should definitely come see us sometime.

Miriam - I'll certainly offer any help I can.

Bill - You're welcome.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi, Margaret- Absolutely.  We're working on getting her all set up. Thank you for taking on the challenge of setting up the Military Directory blogs.

Hi, Jo- Thanks...are you coming up for Rondy?

Hey, Frank - Always good to see new faces joining the Rain.

Virginia - Thanks for reading the intro.

Howdy, Andrew- Thanks... I guess you poetic bloggers are rubbing off on me a little.

Hi, Ann - Thanks...Let's hope we're back to better economic days soon.

Hi, Kay - Thanks... I borrowed the photo's from Dody.  she lives in a gorgeous area of Alaska.

Hi, Dody - You're very welcome... We're glad to have another fellow Alaskan on board.  Here's the Military Relocations group.

Sandy - Wow. That's quite a change... but it would be cooler than Florida.  Now about that cabin in the woods... :)
