I would like to introduce a new member of the Active Rain team. Dody Kettler is a Realtor with Prudential Vista Jack White serving Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska. Dody is a self described a military wife, mother to three children and Realtor in one of the most beautiful places in Alaska - I can't argue with her there. :) Be sure to check out her ActiveRain blog, say hi and show some support as she gets her feet wet.
Wasilla and Palmer Alaska are approximately 40 miles northeast of Anchorage, Alaska in the beautiful Matanuska-Susitna Valley. Both Wasilla and Palmer, with a population of 6,500 and 6,900, respectively, have retained a wonderful small town feel despite progressive growth. Wasilla is considered the retail and commercial hub of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in addition to being a bedroom community of Anchorage with approximately 34% of the residents commuting to Anchorage. Wasilla is also home to the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and the Tesoro Iron-Dog 2000, the world's longest snowmobile race. Palmer, Alaska began as one of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal projects. In 1935, 205 families from the upper mid-west arrived in the newly established Matanuska Colony. Each family drew lots for 40 acre tracts of land from which they were expected to develop agriculturally. Palmer is the only Alaskan community that developed from an agricultural lifestyle. Although a number of Palmer residents commute to Anchorage, the city is coming into its own. Since 2000, more than $100MM in public and private sector new construction money has poured into Palmer. It's also home to the world famous (to Alaskan's anyway) Alaska State Fair. |

Aren't you nice to introduce Dody. I'll be sure to hop over there and welcome her in person. Loved the photos, very pretty place. I hope to make it "up North" some day :-)
Very nice introduction to a fellow agent. I wish her the best and would bet you will be helping her out.
Welcome to the Active Rain community Dody. Thank you for introducing her to us Jesse and Kathy.
Terrific, a military wife - you'll have to introduce her to the Military Relocations Group and help her get up to speed so she can be in the Military Directories. Nice Introduction. I should have tagged you for a Hidden Gem so you could introduce her to that group. Heck, maybe Melissa would let you "in" anyway!
Welcome Dody! I will head on over to say hi on your blog - Jesse, great job on the intro :)
Dody, Welcome Aboard. Post and comment here on AR. The members here will share their experience with you.
Jesse and Kathy, thanks for introducing Dody.
Jesse & Kathy - What a great introduction for Dody! My wife Lisa and I work as a team with RE/MAX UNITED in Cary, NC. Lisa's brother and his family live in North Pole, AK. When Lisa spoke with them last, they were having a -40degrees day. My hat's off to all of you guys for doing business in that kind of climate!
Best Wishes,
Kelsie,
