As the colorful azaleas and dogwoods bloom and display a scenic backdrop for the city of Eufaula, it is time for Alabama's Oldest Tour of Homes - The Eufaula Pilgrimage. Experience Southern hospitality, charm and beautiful blooming spring flowers during the 42nd annual Eufaula Pilgrimage and Antique show - April 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2009.

Homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places will be opened to intrigued visitors Eufaula Alabama Pilgrimageduring this festive time returning to the Old South Days. Victorian mansions built by 19th century plantations owners and merchants, housing family heirlooms of the forgotten era will be open to the general public for tours. Most of the homes are located in the Seth Lore-Irwinton Historic District.

Visitors are greeted by Southern Belles in the hoops and bustles as they the grace the beautifully gardens and verandas. Reliving history is felt throughout the city of Eufaula. Citizens are proud of the history of their town and everyone comes out to volunteer for the Eufaula Pilgrimage. Tales of the Tomb - a real life enactment of Eufaula History. Residents of Fairview Cemetery share the drama and the scandals of the growing area and how Eufaula became and aristocratic river town of Lower Alabama.

Other attractions during the 42 Annual Eufaula Pilgrimage:

  • Art Show - professional artisit from the Southeast. Art Show of Eufaula is held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on historic N. Randolph Avenue.
  • Wine and Cheese Tasting - Friday evening.
  • Afternoon Tea - Come out and relive a "tea party" from this historic time period. Friday and Saturday. Reservation only.
  • Shooting the Canon on Cherry Street - An old Civil War cannon is fired periodically throughout the Pilgrimage.
  • Picnic on the Porch
  • Period and antique instruments and music will fill the air.

Daily Tours : 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Candlelight Tours : 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Sunday Tours : 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$7.00 per single house

Packages available from $22 - $90

Group rates available of 15 or more
