Well, after falling victim to a migraine last night, I didn't get my blog post ready for today. :( So it may be a little short, even though there are LOADS of things going on today and tonight. Feel free to post other events in the comments!
The first thing that comes to mind is the 2nd day of the Helen Keller Festival. I went to downtown Tuscumbia for dinner last night and it was in full swing. Every time I go there, I ask myself why I don't go more often, So head on over there and check out some of this stuff:
- 5 Mile and 23 Mile Family Bike Ride
Friday June 24th, in the parking lot of Spring Creek Golf Course. Registration is from 5-6 p.m., with the ride starting at 6. Entry fee is $10 if postmarked by 6/21 and $12 after that date. All entrants will receive a free t-shirt. Register at the Keller Wellcare Center, or online at www.helenkeller.com. For more information contact Brooke Cunningham at 256-386-4747 orbrooke.cunningham@helenkeller.com. Bike Ride Registration Form (pdf)
- Dr. Bill Foster will be performing storytelling at the Helen Keller Public Library at 7pm tonight. He's definitely worth going to see!
- Matthew Craig is performing at 6:30 on the Main Stage in Spring Park, followed by Lenny LeBlanc at 7:30. The last act for the night is The Shooters at 9pm, feturing Gary Baker, Barry Billings, Walt Aldridge, Mike Dillon, and Chalmers Davis.
- The Miracle Worker is performed at Ivy Green, Helen Keller's birthplace at pm. It is also running tomorrow night at 8pm
On to other events in the area...
UNA's Summer Theatre Program is presenting
Death of a Salesman at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night, with a matinee at 2 pm on Sunday. It actually opened last night, but I left it out of my list yesterday by mistake! I haven't been to see it yet, so if anyone wants to send me a review, I'll be glad to post it!

Also performing tonight (at midnight) is the end. They are doing
Spiders and Gasoline: For God's Sake. It is part of their original supernatural series. I'm hoping to go myself tonight...
I know there is lots more happening tonight, but the madness has to stop somewhere! Post a comment if you want to add another event, or send me an email at amanda@cypressrealty.net.
