Helena Alabama Residential home sales for the month of April 2009 increased over those for March 2009 substantially. Below are the comparisons for the two months:

While the increase in residential units sold was 70%, the average price was down approximately 8.39%. However the sales to list price only dropped by 1% indicating that the homes that did sell in April were on average, lower priced to begin with than those which sold in March. Another good market indicator is that the average days on market for the homes that sold decreased from 160 in March to 137 in April.
Helena is a great place to live and work. It has much to offer in the way of recreation, shopping and dining...a place where neighbors get to know one another and there is a real sense of community.
It is a great time to buy for those looking to move up, downsize and for first time homebuyers-- defined as anyone who has not owned a home in the last 3 years and investors. Interest rates are at historic lows and there are many homes on the market priced really well. Call me to find out how you can benefit from a move in this market. Also give me a call for information about the federal tax incentive of up to $8000 for first time buyers and how you can take advantage of it now.
