Hot Springs Creek Greenway is progressing toward its final destination on the shores of Lake Hamilton slowly but surely. The newest section, a one-fifth mile long asphalt trail, was dedicated in a ceremony June 1, 2007. This section of trail is the first of two sections that will be known as Hollywood Trail, which begins at the Rotary Centennial Trailhead across from Hollywood Park. When complete it will end at Chelsea Street and have two neighborhood connections at Euclid and Bellview streets. The new trail covers a little more than one quarter of a mile and provides a scenic overlook of Hot Springs Creek.
This beautiful new trail will benefit the downtown area from an environmental preservation standpoint, and it will provide alternate transportation, help in storm water control, provide health opportunities, and will also improve the area's appearance. All of which will likely result in economic improvement by drawing more visitors and industry to the area. -- article reported by the Sentinel Record
