I got a call from a sweet little lady to list her home. She has moved to an assisted living home, but she is in the independent section. She doesn't need any assistance, she gets along just fine by her self. She drives and does her own cooking. THE FUNNY THING IS, SHE IS 93 YEARS OLD, LOOKS YEARS YOUNGER AND HAS A GREAT ATTITUDE. THAT IS HOW I WANT TO BE, IF I LIVE THAT LONG!
She is a retired school teacher, an avid reader, works crossword puzzles and is a very smart lady. I think keeping an active mind is a big plus in how we age. She is a very remarkable person. I knew her daughter from high school and she told her mother to call me. Her daughter was one of the most beautiful girls in school.
As she was showing me her home we had the best time! She went from room to room, without missing a step. We went outside and she showed me her yard and plants. I mean this little lady could move! I was totally amazed. She is such an inspiration! Did I mention she has a cell phone?
I am going to start taking better care of myself, and where is that crossword puzzle book?

Longevity is definitely a feat! I am taking care of my own mother and she turns 90 next month. I am convinced she is going to outlive me. She had so many health problems when she was younger I never expected her to live to such a ripe old age. Guess she got all her problems out of the way a long time ago.
I can't believe she has a cell phone and most in these parts wouldn't know how to use one at her age. I'm glad you had a good time with her and hope everything works out with the home. I too have changed my ways of eating to a more healthier style and probably will live a few more years..lol
We listed a home for a young lady of 95...I told her to pick the last three lucky numbers of her listing price...she stood up to her full 4 foot 9 inches and almost shouted "Seven come 11 !"
Seniors are a stitch.,...I want to live long enough to say and do even more of whatever I want to and people will understand...,I AM a senior...
Sandra,
I am glad your mother is still living. My mother is 83 and I am so glad she is still here. Have a great week.
Bob,
I couldn't believe it either! She is such a remarkable person.
Sally and David,
That was so funny, she must have been a card! My little lady was totally amazing.
She does sound like an inspiration for all of us. Congratulations on the listing.
Nice story, guess it's never to late to start changing your life for the better!
Mary Paul:
My mom is 90. She live the the house that I grew up in and won't leave.
She is independent and sharp witted. I am here closest child and live about 35 minutes from her.
I must say she holds her own.
Richard
If you said she text messages and blogs I would have been totally impressed. :)
What a great lady. I think she has the key to longevity, an active mind.
Barbara,
If she comes into the office, I'll introduce you to her. I hope to get an offer on the listing today.
Dick,
I think attitude has a lot to do with aging. You should be the best you can be at whatever age you are! Thanks for the response.
Richard,
How wonderful that your mom still lives in the same house and can take care of herself. It is all in attitude and the way you look at life. You have a great mother!
Randy
I don't know if she text messages, but it wouldn't surprise me! She is a lovely lady and very inspiring to me.
Michael,
You are so right, an active mind is a big plus! Not being dependant on others is also a big factor, and she eats well. Got to have those fruits and veggies. Thanks for the response.
