Chandler receiving Stimulus

The City of Chandler has received $15 million from the American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 for transit improvement.

The federal grant will be used for a new Rapid Bus Transit route from south Chandler and will connect with the Light Rail in Mesa with fewer stops.

Other ARRA funds rewarded to Chandler:

Roadway funding $6,000,000

Transportation Enhancements $750,000

Homeless Prevention & Rapid Re-housing $575,000

Energy Efficiency and Conservation $2,275,000

Community Development $375,000

Public Housing $595,000

Public Safety $433,000
