Ellen DeGeneres blew into Flagstaff yesterday morning on a Warner Brothers private jet that was tossed and turned in our winter storm. With a large TV crew, she had breakfast at one of the Northern Arizona University dorms, stood next to the giant pine cone (already set up to drop on New Year's Eve) on the balcony of the Weatherford Hotel, and shaved and autographed a
Flagstaffonian's head! What a day!
Because of the weather, her planned helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon was cancelled and she took off for LA by early afternoon.

Ann- That sounded like a great event. I love Ellen's type of comedy.
Steve - it was fun day! Would have been soo much better if the weather had cooperated, but we never complain about getting rain or snow in our dry climate
I love Ellens show!
I am definitely an Ellen fan. She seems so normal and down to earth.
Ann- Now that's an event I wish I hadn't missed :) I love that pinecone....so this is the New Years "Ball"....cute :)
Yes, the pinecone is lowered twice on New Year's -- the "Kid's Midnight" at 10 p.m. and then again at true midnight. The downtown area is so packed with people that they heat each other up.
