Have I lost my mind?

Perhaps I've been a bit too over-confident about my physical fitness this afternoon. I just signed up to walk up the Snow Bowl Road on August 16 in the Flagstaff event "Climb to Conquer Cancer".

Climb to Conquer Cancer is a noncompetitive walk to raise awareness and dollars to fight cancer. Actually, I am excited to announce that I am supporting the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer by participating in this fundraising campaign along with others at RE/MAX Peak Properties. Our team, of course, is called RE/MAX Peak Climbers.

Please visit my personal fund-raising web site to learn more about this campaign and to donate to Climb to Conquer. All contributions support the American Cancer Society's efforts to fund groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information and education, advocate for public health policies that benefit the community, and offer services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Thank you in advance for any support you can provide!San Francisco Peaks in Winter

Here's a winter view of the mountain I'll be climbing on August 16. The peak is over 12,000 feet. We'll "just" go to the ski lift area at about 9000 feet.

Great idea, great cause, start training soon.  It sounds like it will be fun and worthwhile.

All the best!

Yup..you've lost your mind.....but for a good cause....right...good luck...I'm sure you'll have fun..! (and sore feet)

I agree with Konnie ... even if you have lost your mind, it sounds like you've got a big heart!  We'll be cheering you on ... from the valley :) - Calie

Take your time and enjoy the scenery. I participated in a 5K Walk for the Cure on Mothers' Day. The route was flat and the pace was leisurely, but I could feel it the next day.

Ann:  Good luck on your climb.  It sounds like fun.  I wish you all the best!

Congratulations on your courage to participate in the Snow Bowl, Ann. It'll be ok if you have some good long underwear. :-) Do it for Elvis, too, August 16th is the day he went home to be with the Lord. Thousands and thousands of people make their pilgrimage to Memphis each year on that day to remember him. And many, many of our friends who come to Memphis on that day also visit and contribute to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, where the battle to cure childhood cancer goes on. And the success rate for the cure gets better every day. It's because of great Realtors, such as yourself, that a cure will be found.

Kevin -- I've been training or I would never have signed up!

Rosario -- I too did a Walk for the Cure -- it was part of my inspiration to sign up for this!
