The second largest economic development project in Fountain Hills' history gets the go ahead from the Town Council.
On June 7, 2007 the Fountain Hills Town Council approved a minor General Plan amendment, a zoning map amendment and special use permits for accessory uses, such as retail, restaurant, lounge and offices. These amendments and special use permits will all make possible the proposed $70 million Fountain Hills Resport and Spa that has been years in the making.
The planned 269-unit resort hotel and conference center will be located on the northeast corner of Palisades and Shea Boulevards. The resort will occupy approximately 23 acres of a 60-acre parcel of land.
According to Mike Duffy, project manager for the developer, construction on the project may begin before the end of this year.
