Fountain Hills Town Manager, Tim Pickering, may soon be making a move. The Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff and The Fountain Hills Times have both reported that Tim Pickering, Fountain Hills Town Manager is being considered for the position of City Manager in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Pickering was quoted as saying "I am honored to be chosen to be a finalist for the Flagstaff City Manager position." The city of Flagstaff has until August 30th to fill the position. Should Pickering choose to terminate his contract with the Town of Fountain Hills he will be required to give 60 days notice.
Recently, Pickering has the been the center of controversy in Fountain Hills. Many Fountain Hills residents have been upset with the way he has handled several aspects of town business including recent lawsuits that have had a negative economic impact on the town. A petition with more than 600 signatures requests that Pickering be replaced when his contract expires next year.
