All builders are not created equal. Different levels of attention to detail,d ifferent philosophies, etc. At some level they are the same. But at many levels they aren't! Reading the East Valley Tribune today, I came across this article. It suggests that buyers of new homes
I also came across this article. A experienced developer had a new home (~ 500K) built by a well known national builder. Boom. 200 defects/workmanship issues during the last 2 years? Ouch. Varying levels of responsiveness and customer service? Poor materials and inadequately trained labor during the recent boom? In adequate regulation? This story has it all.
I always say, reputation means something. If your builder has it, it may be worth its weight in gold. I have blogged about this topic before and once again attach a link to a 2006 report on Phoenix area builders. Please take this information and apply it before purchasing your next new home!
Thanks for Reading :)

I agree. Just because a home is brand new doesn't mean it won't have problems.
