| Concert in the Park |

Thursday, November 1, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Bring the whole family out to Freestone Park for a free concert performed by the Brazen Heads the five-piece Celtic rock band. Freestone Park is located at 1045 E. Juniper Road. October is the start of the Fall Concerts in the Park series. The free concerts are a great way to spend an outdoor evening with the family. The concerts are held the first Thursday of the month. The Holiday Concert from 6 - 8:30 p.m. on December 13 features the Dickens' Carolers and Sherry Petta with a variety of holiday tunes mixed with jazz. The Gilbert Girls' Choir will also perform, ages ranging from 8 to 11. The concert feaures a visit from Santa.

| Youth Fishing Day - Riparian Preserve |

October 6th, Kids can drop a line for free at the Riparian Preserve lake from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The Arizona Game and Fish Department will be providing fishing gear and bait to the first 100 youths. What a great way to introduce children into the world of fishing! Participants will not need an urban fishing license to fish on the lake. Only for the event that day. That lake has a maximum depth of 15 feet and features catfish, rainbow trout, bluegill, sunfish, crappie, largemouth bass, tilapia and carp. Fish are regularly stocked at the Preserve. At any age, any level, Youth Fishing Day is a perfect opportunity to catch a fish. The lake is located southeast of Greenfield and Guadalupe roads. This is one of the 20 lakes in Maricopa County involved in the Urban Fishing Progam! See you there!

October 27, 5 - 9 p.m. Gilbert Family Halloween Carnival presented by Mercy Gilbert Medical Center welcomes the entire family on Saturday to Freestone Park Ball Field Complex. The carnival will include lots of live entertainment, children's activities, costume parades for children and pets. Also included will be an arts and crafts zone. Admission is $3, children under 4 are free. Everyone is encouraged to wear their halloween costumes. |

| Superstition Two Hour Trail Ride: |

November 10th, 9 - 11 a.m. 6 yrs and older are welcome to sign up for this exciting 2 hour ride with OK Corral will take you out on beautiful trails at the base of the Superstition Mountains. The ride will cover basic instruction while leading you through the gorgeous desert mountains and foothills. Saddle up for a great time and a chance to see the most beautiful Sonoran Desert in the world! Cost $63. Children ages 10 and older can ride alone (parent/legal guardian to complete all necessary paperwork at the stables).Children age 6-9 must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian on the ride. October 6, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Gilbert Municpal Center, 50 E. Civic Center Drive in Gilbert. Cost is Free. You are invited to celebrate diversity as part of the Hispanic Heritage Festival. Entertainment includes several local dance groups, singers, artists, cultural exhibits, writers and guest speakers. The Festival is a fun and educational event for the entire community. There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy. |

| Field Trips in October |

October 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children 5 through 12 can have fun on two upcoming field trips that depart from the McQueen Park Activity Center. The first trip is to Phoenix Zoo, which includes a tram ride, visit to the petting zoo and a guided tour to see all of the animals. The cost is $25. The second trip is an adventure to Makudus Island, a 20,000 square foot indoor playground, The cost is $16 and takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 11. Call me if you make it to town! Our Riparian Preserve Lake is a nice little treat in the city!! We have 20 of those lakes in the Phoenix area!!

Bridget - Keep an eye out for future Tips on my blog for making tables to distribute content on your page!! It's a lot of fun to work with. Something you might look at is working with Front Page or Textpad.com and start getting familiar with that software. Front page is a Microsoft software and they no longer sell it, it's called something else now, I can't recall. But you can work in Publisher also and convert to webpage. Lots of fun things can be done!! I am experimenting now! Thank you for your kind words!
