We bought the House- Now What?
Every once in a while a new home buyer will ask me for my opinion about the best places to go for furnishings.
I usually ask them what their tastes are and will email a few suggestions.
Some of these suggestion do not vary as they are generic enough to work for most people.
Here are a few of my favorites:
For appliances:
------------------
Spencer's
They tend to have the appliances that the bigger stores carry but their prices and customer service has won them a very loyal following.
in Mesa
115 W. 1st Ave.
Mesa Az 85210
(480) 833-3072
in Gilbert
2711 S. Santan Village Parkway Suite 101
Gilbert Az 85296
(480) 366-3900
------------------
For furniture & Decor items:
The Decor Store
6150 W Chandler Blvd Ste 28
Chandler, AZ 85226
(480) 893-2288
They have all sorts of nice home decorating items as well as some larger furniture. They're a must-visit during the holidays as they will have items you may not find anywhere else.
------------------
Potato Barn
17131 E Williams Field Rd
Gilbert, AZ 85236
(480) 279-5500
They have an eclectic collection of furniture, quite a few of their pieces are very reasonably priced. Some people travel from the far edges of the valley to go there.
------------------
The Crowded House
1927 N Gilbert Rd
Mesa, AZ 85203
(480) 834-3002
If the Potato barn has a long-lost fraternal twin- well... it's time for a family reunion because we've found a match! This location is newer but is building up a following of its own.
------------------
Razmataz
They have several locations throughout the valley. They can be hit and miss but often have an item or two that you may enjoy. It's sort of like Price Club/Costco/Sam's Club ... some items are one-of-a-kind or of the blink-and-you-miss-out variety.
In Gilbert:
2697 S Market St
Gilbert, AZ 85296
(480) 355-177
In Chandler:
3458 W Chandler Blvd
Chandler, AZ 85226
(480) 821-7900
------------------
There you have it... a round-up of some pretty good places to put on your browsing list. I encourage all the other east valley experts to chime in on their favorites.
Happy shopping!

The Potato Barn???? Are you sure that isn't in Idaho???
I will have to go shopping while in AZ next time.
Of course, Spencers has been a long time in the valley. I have also heard of Razmataz... Now there are a couple more to check out! Thanks for the info.
I came back to say Pam, make sure you contact us when you come to AZ, so we can all get together...
Shopping... I will be so happy to be able to do that again!! Great list for your 'peeps' Chuck.
Chuck your folks have a lot choices - but sounds like they made the best in Realtor! Way to dazzle with service after the sale!
Raleigh Realtor - Pamela St. Peter
Pam- You're not the only one with famous Potatos. :-)
Doreen- Razmataz has lots of one-of-a-kind stuff but it's one of those you-bought-it-you-own-it type places.
Susie- You're too funny.
Pamela- It always comes up... almost as an afterthought, what do we put in this home? The nice thing about Spencers is that they can get very creative. If your builder provided appliances, Spencers may offer to take yours as a trade and upgrade for less than the builder would charge.
Great idea to recommend shopping options that you, as the local expert, know to be good!
Chuck - yes, it is a super idea! Great for Localism, big help for the customer, and a dose of GoogleJuice for you. It's all good :-)
Isn't the Potato Barn just the coolest. Not many people know about them...they should just cause of there name. :0) Now the Crowded House is a new one for me, I'll have to check that one out.
Thx
Hey Chuck - One of my favorite places to buy accessories is Kirklands. Not only do they offer an incredible selection at various price points, but they're nationwide. Thanks for sharing this list - it's a keeper. - Calie
Diane- I've spent more time than I care to admit shopping at these places. :-)
Gail- I've sent this list so many times that I decided it was time I make it public.
Michael- Yes... try Crowded House... it's easy for me... it's very close to home.
Calie- So true! We're at Kirklands all the time... I need to add that to the list!
