Gold Canyon East - Taking a Tour in Arizona

Continuing our journey and my story about Gold Canyon, just nine miles east of Mesa, Arizona, in the beautiful Superstition Mountain foothills lies Gold Canyon Golf Gold Canyon Golf ResortResort boasting two 18-hole championship golf courses: Dinosaur Mountain and The Sidewinder. It also has many pampering services including massages. ;-)

With views the envy of our state, this is a popular landing spot for many from the colder climates in our United States of America.

Gold Canyon ResortLots of golfing, hiking and relaxation is always on the menu in this fabulous area. Close by is the Arizona Renaissance Festival, a medieval amusement park and Renaissance Fair in Arizona just east of Gold Canyon East. Popular with residents from the Phoenix Valley, the Festival usually runs from late winter to mid-spring every year.

In addition, the Safeway International LPGA golf tournament is held at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon.

As we traveled from the Superstition Foothills, we entered the eastern portion of Gold Canyon which also touts views galore as evidenced by the photographs taken on this virtual tour of the area. Just double click here. No less beautiful than the west side, many custom homes spot the landscape in the mountains and hills, with panoramic views. This is definitely a breathtaking area with great history and just far enough away from the city lights to feel a lot like country.

Enjoy my virtual tour, and be sure to click two times if needed:

More photos to come including Queen Creek, more of Gold Canyon, Mesa, so be sure to stay tuned.

One question - snakes? We have a lot of snow birds here that winter in your area - ummm - referrals that is a great idea

Hi Teri,
What a great tour you are providing for us and I really am enjoying seeing the beauty of your area.  Thesa has a good question...snakes?  I do not like snakes.

Hi Teri - Yes, I do believe we have workd together. It's been too long though! Would love to have another opportunity to work with you in the future!

Teri,

So pretty out there.  And no snow!!!  Keep the tour going!!

Teri--Love the photos...It looks so warm there! :)

Well done, Teri!  I love Gold Canyon, and really, what needs to be said for the Superstitions?

Thesa, yep, we got snakes and scorpions and all kinds of critters. Should I photograph some of those for you. ;-) We, after all, live in their homes - especially in the rocky terrains. That said, haven't seen one since I moved back in 2000. As a child, though, we frequently found scorpions and tortured them. ;-)

Nick, I'd be happy to work with you again. ;-)

Cynthia, see my answer to Thesa about the snakes. You are welcome about sharing. We have so many beautiful areas.......and it is warmer than many climates in our USA.

Martin, lots more to come. Yep, no snow here in our valley, but lots up in the higher elevations. Glad you are enjoying the tours. Fun to put together.

Teri, yup it is warm here and spectacularly beautiful. The day I took these photos - a couple of weeks ago, it was in the 70's.......Whenever you get cold, just drop by for a tour of Arizona. It might warm you up. ;-)

Paul, yes I agree. The Superstitions pretty much speak for themselves don't they? And, as you said, Gold Canyon is spectacular. Thanks for coming by to comment.

Teri - Thanks for the lovely tour.  On a day like today in the Twin Cities (-2 degrees for the high) it makes me want to take a trip, or move...

Have a terrific day!

Truly beautiful photos Teri. After seeing the pics in your series, I'm sitting here in the middle of another Montreal snow storm wondering why I live in such a cold place.

Marzena, I don't blame you at all. Just one of the many reasons I live in Arizona. :-) Come on over, there's plenty of room. Thanks for dropping by.

Marti, so glad you enjoyed them.  Isn't it amazing how absolutely different all of the areas are in North America? Though I've not been there, I just know that Montreal is beautiful when it warms up a bit! I think it's all about what we grow accustomed to. Thanks for coming by. ;-)

I guess it is no worse having snakes than us having cougars :o)

Thesa, I think you're right. Ewwww, I don't know which would cause me to scream louder. ;-)
