Taking a drive east of the Valley of the Sun along Highway 60, I continue beyond Mesa, beyond the city of Apache Junction, and turn left/north onto the road entitled "Superstition Mountain Drive". I am now looking
directly at Superstition Mountain and entering the community of Superstition Foothills.
I continue my drive enjoying the beautiful mountain, foothills, the blue skies, beautiful homes nestled in the foothills, the neat and scenic views and come to Don Donnelly Road. I turn right and on my immediate left is the clubhouse for this community complete with a pool, picnic tables, club house, and lots of green grass.
I think a virtual tour is in order, so the next post will include more of the photos taken. This is such a beautiful area that even photos are not enough. Many of my out of state clients have purchased their home in Gold Canyon - specifically in Superstition Foothills because of the pristine, untouched feeling of this area. There are hiking trails throughout the entire community, golf courses and peaceful and quiet away from the city feeling.
As I continue my drive along Don Donnelly Road, there are more and more mountain vistas, shrubbery, cacti, and I feel the peace. My drive will continue in Part II and will include East Gold Canyon and the 55+ community of Mountain Brook.

Candace, sorry, I didn't notice you asked about my camera. I use two cameras. A little Sony 7.2 Cybershot and a Nikon D70S with a 18-200 lens. I really want a new telescope lens 'cause I'm such a photo nut.
Hi Stephanie, it is a beautiful area. I think the virtual tour will better show what it has to offer. ;-)
Hi Thesa, thank you. I appreciate it coming from a pro. ;-)
Thanks for stopping by ladies, I appreciate your comments.
Teri--I have been to AZ three times. Twice to Tucson and once to Phoenix. All for business so no time to really see the sites. Thank you for sharing photos of your beautiful state and community!
Teri, These are great photos and also a great descriptive words that really makes me want to visit. I recently visited a 55 and over active adult community and took photos that I plan on sharing here soon. Arizona is one place I have not had the pleasure of visiting, but definitely is on my list of place to visit before I die.
Hi Teri,
A beautiful area. Ok, I have to ask what is the story behind the name "Superstition Mountain", it has to be a good story. Share.
Teri, you were here? I'm happy to share. Thanks for coming by Teri.
Sally, thank you. Arizona is spectacular. I've been in many states, and they're all beautiful. I just find that Arizona has such spectacular beauty I like to share.
Cynthia, thank you. Okay, I will share the story about Superstition Mountain - on my next post with the virtual tour.
That looks like a great area! Are you anywhere near where the Super Bowl is being played?
Monika, about 40-45 miles or so. Glendale is on the west side, and I'm on the east side. Are you coming? ;-)
I wish!!! My team will be playing... Go PATS!!!!
LOL, I'll bet you'll be watching it on television huh? It'll be a bit warmer here, I think. ;-)
