Ever wonder what would happen when you get city council members, the local police, the fire department and great pineapples all together? Well, in Lake Havasu City, when you put all four together, you get the first ever Hospitality Association Great Pineapple Race 2009.
So, if you've ever wondered if your local councilmen could out-paddle your local police and fire department, then head out to the Nautical today. The race begins at 5:00 p.m. in front of the Nautical and the Turtle.
There will also be many local business teams that will be participating for their chance on one of the 21 canoe outrigger paddling teams. The purpose of the event is to help raise membership and awareness for the Hospitality Association.
The best thing about this event is that it's free for everyone. However, there will be a $5 charge for appetizers and a drink from the Turtle for those who want it.
The canoes have been provided by the Lake Havasu City Outrigger Canoe Club, who has also provided a steer person to help with the navigation of each canoe. The three fastest times will win.
This will definitely be good old fashioned entertainment and sounds like a lot of fun. While there, the Lake Havasu City Hospitality Association is offering ½ off their membership fees.
