Major Portion of Mesa Arizona's Loop 202 Opens July 21, 2008

Roundin Out the Loop - ADOT website

It's Time to Round Out the Loop 202.

Metro Phoenix's massive population increase has created a strain on traffic. Fortunately the Department of Transportation created a master plan that has worked wonders in alleviating the flow of traffic.

One major contributor to this has been the Loop 202 which offers a "ring" that connects the far reaches of the valley. Those who travel from Mesa to the Southeast valley cities of Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Chandler as well as those who live in the southeast who wish to travel to Mesa or Scottsdale are in for a real treat.

The Red Mountain portion of Loop 202 will be connected to the San Tan portion on July 21. This is a welcome relief to those who've had a much longer commute. To Celebrate, the Department of Transportation is throwing a huge party to celebrate Rounding out the Loop.

Here are the details:

Time: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A loop that is one thing the metro New Orleans area could use.  I doubt we ever see it.

That's great news, Chuck - I'll bet that people all over the SE part of the Phoenix Metro will be doing backflips - as well as those entering the hula contest!

Chuck, sounds like a welcome relief, nothing worse then sitting in traffic. Keep on rolling!

John- It has been a long time in coming, now that it's here I'm one happy dude.

Kent- I know I won't be doing backflips... unless "in spirit" counts. :-)

Duane- This is going to make a big difference for lots of people.
