Curb Appeal!

CURB APPEAL!

A lot of the times buyers choose to drive by your home first before wanting to set an appointment to view. An attractive yard that is free of debris will gain interest quickly. Make sure that trees are trimmed and that your home can be seen from the street. Have the grass mowed, trimmed and edged & walkways swept. Clean away all debris, remove parked cars or RVs, and when in season, plant flowers to add color.

Remember -- if the buyer does not like the outside, that person simply drives on to the next house. Get your home ready for drive by traffic and give folks something extra nice to look at.

I totally agree.  I tell my clients our first priority is to get them in the door!  I have been with many clients who tell me not to stop at a house because they didn't like th outside.

Amen to the post and the first comment there.  I've found it extremely helpful to take stubborn listing clients around to a few houses that are similar to what they'll buy when they sell and have both good and bad curb appeal homes to view.  And ask them for their impressions.  It opens their eyes really quick to thinking like a buyer!  First impressions take seconds, and curb appeal (and even more important these days, the e-appeal) are where buyers weed out potential properties!  Great tip for sellers.

I had a client that wouldn't even think about going into a house because they hadn't raked the leaves off the lawn.  She said if they don't care enough to take care of the house when they are trying to sell it, then she didn't even want to think about how they treated the house all the years they had been living in it.

It is so important that in a Buyer's Market we get as much traffic though our listings as possible and Curb Appeal is the 1st step.  People do judge a book by its cover!
