Dear Mom ... Next Year, Anything but a PUMPKIN, Please!

Dear Mom -

Eden unhappy as a pumpkin

I know you meant well, but you kind of blew it with the costume this year!! Yes, it's my first Halloween and everybody always thinks babies look so cute dressed in pumpkin outfits ... but you know what? Everybody has no idea what they're talking about! Pumpkins are cute but uncomfortable. Pumpkins say "I know ... it looks like my mom really didn't know what I really wanted."

Yes, it might look in this picture as though I have an earache or coming down with the croup ... but the truth is that I'm just plain hot. Was it too much to expect my first costume to be comfortable and cool? I just wanted to be feminine and pretty like my cousin in her cute costume!

I mean no disrespect, Mom. I know you tried very hard. And I also know Dad and his parents think I'm adorable. But next year lets get on the Internet and Google "best Halloween costumes for 2010"? If we would have this year, you'd have seen the very cute costumes available, like Baby Minnie Mouse, Snow White, or Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Even those old standbys of fairy princess or butterfly would have worked.

Any of these would have been more fun than this hot pumpkin! And yes Grandma Anna still says I look adorable. Enough Grandma!

It's OK, Mom. I know this was your first year, so it's only right that I give you a pass this time. Next year can we work on this together cause I expect my costume to Rock Sweet!

Much love -

Your daughter, Eden

P.S. I just couldn't resist sharing my baby grandaughter's first Halloween - and her clear dislike of her suit! But doesn't she look as adorable as can be!
