Good Grief - Are those buzzards flying around that Phoenix house?
Yesterday I showed long time clients of mine a few Phoenix & Glendale homes. These folks have been seriously looking for a home to downsize in, as he's retired and she hopes to retire next year or so. They just don't want
a big home and huge yard to take care of anymore. That seems simple enough.
They had put a bid on another home but didn't win as they lost out to a cash buyer. Of course they were disappointed as it was a lovely home. They have hope that the right home and situation will happen. And I absolutley know we'll make it happen for them - whatever it takes.
Here's the bizarre part of our Phoenix home tour yesterday. A home came 'back on the market' in an area my buyers were interested in relocating to as it's close to their kids and grand kids. The husband and I went to look at it in the morning to make sure it would be a home his wife would be happy to call it home. It was gorgeous and just the right size for them, plus it had been remodeled. This would mean he would not have any work to do and could spend his time playing golf. We made plans to meet there at 5:30 that evening and to write a contract on the spot.
My business partner and I arrived at the home a little before 5:30 (he really enjoys this couple and wanted to share in their excitement so he came along to support their home buying experience). There was another agent waiting to show the home and somebody else was in the home looking around. We waited patiently for our turn and while we were waiting 3 more cars pulled up. Good Grief what the heck is going on here? Were we in grand central station or what?

We finally got in the home. I closed the gate and front door so they could have their privacy while viewing the home. Whew! It felt like we were being surrounded by buzzards, it really did! It was bizarre. None of us could believe this was actually happening.
While we were upstairs we looked out the window and saw
several more buzzards people getting in line to view the home
They both loved the home and wanted to make an offer so we headed out the door, past the long line of people waiting to view the home. Back at my office we had a serious conversation about what they wanted to do about making an offer or passing on this one. Was it possible to win this bid? Would they have to go over list price to get the bid? In the end they decided to pass on making an offer on this home. They made the right decision in this situation. The home will most likely be bid way up over list and quite frankly, it's just not worth that much. It's a nice home....but not that nice. Next....
They've moved on and we'll be looking at other homes on Sunday.
They are confident the right home and situation will pop up. Me too!
Sometimes, passing on making an offer is a very good decision!
