What an extraordinary day it was yesterday in Phoenix, Arizona! While here in town attending a blogging conference, my friend Lynda Eisenmann (best friend, CRS, REALTOR® and Broker/Owner of Preferred Home Brokers in Brea, CA) and I were treated to a grand tour of the city by fellow CRS® and Metro Phoenix REALTOR® Mario Trejo Romero. We were treated to a tour of Mario’s present office located in a beautiful, historic, brick Victorian home. Mario recently sold this property and will be moving to his new office to a historic, mid-century building right next to the historic neighborhood of Encanto. Mario’s specialty is historic real estate.

After touring the “new” office Mario chauffeured us around the Encanto neighborhood and then into the heart of the city. Mario certainly knew his market. He is certainly the REALTOR’S® REALTOR®. Lynda and I were full of questions and Mario was ready with great information that not only answered our questions, it also gave us even more information than we would have known enough to ask. As we toured the ity, Lynda and I were both impressed with the diverse architecture and contrast between the well-preserved old and the cutting edge new building designs.

The incredible photo above from www.megascenery.com shows the mega city of Phoenix that now covers over 60 miles juxtaposed against original historic neighborhoods and room to grow. Phoenix is one of the five fastest growning cities in America.
Later that evening we enjoyed an exceptional dinner at Phoenix City Grille (one of Mario’s favorite restaurants in the Phoenix). Try the roast pork and don’t miss the cornbread! After dinner, we were off to see the new “lake” in on the Phoenix/Tempe border. WOW! With some baffles, locks, a new bridge, and the foresight of the former Mayor of Tempe, the old muddy river area has been transformed into a prime real estate area. High rise condos and marinas now dot the lakefront. A must see when in Phoenix.
One of the best things about being a REALTOR® is traveling to great cities for seminars that teach us more about how to serve our clients better. And, to the extra benefit of meeting with new and old friends across the country and sharing their cities through their eyes.

Marlene - sounds like a cool time in Phoenix. Have only been there once for a conference at the JW Marriott. Looks like you had a great time AND made a new friend.
Jeff
Wasn't Mario at our gathering? Anyway, you all had a great time...I missed you! Thanks for sharing this!
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for stopping by for a read. Mario is a great friend. I met him about 5 years ago and it was instant friendship.
Hey Marlene,
Loved your post and thanks for the mention. It was a great time! Mario was the perfect host and tour guide. I loved seeing both of his offices.
Hey Sally,
Yes Mario came to the wonderful gathering you and Randy organized for us. I use my adorable Hawaii mug every day. You two were so generous in sharing the Aloha spirit with us.
Welcome back....sounds like you had quite the time! Now back to business!
Hi Marlene - love the google earth photo, it's one of the better ones I have seen. Hope you are doing well, sure miss ya, hope to see you this year at RE Connect. I'd be disappointed if you couldn't make it this time. All the best always! B-)
Hi Joan - Thanks for stopping by for a read. It was a great adventure.
Hi Brad - Thanks for you lovely comment and for taking the time to send me an email. I have been very busy with business and my work with the Chamber of Commerce and serving on the board as Pres. Elect for the Southern California Chapter of CRS (Certified Residential Specialists). Something had to give, so I have just had to back off of the time I had been spending here in AR. Thanks for your concern.
BTW - I won't be able to come to Blogger's Connect. I'll be in Florida at another conference :>(
Marlene,
The buildings floating above the ground give Phoenix a different "feel." Sounds like you had a great time!

I was just in Phoenix in May, it was my first time there. I found it to be a very interesting place. I am sure I will go back again one day and maybe get a chance to explore a bit more.
Hey Mike,
Yes, it was a great visit with a great friend. Do you know Mario? He's one of the best REALTORS® I've ever met. Sure works hard for his clients and really knows his market.
All the best,
Marlene
Bradenton Real Estate,
Thanks for stopping in for a read. I do hope you will get back to Phoenix again one day. There is so much to see and do. I was fortunate to have a guide who specializes in historic properties to show me the sights.
Maureen,
I don't know Mario, but that's a fine recommendation. I'll look up his blog.
