These are just two of the magnificent formations that rise up from the desert floor, some reaching heights of 1,000 feet above the surrounding terrain. They are beautiful at any time of day, but the best times are early morning or late evening, especially for photographers.
They are not exactly in a convenient location but there is lodging available within a few miles. This would make an excellent side trip while traveling between the Grand Canyon and Moab, for instance.

In addition to gorgeous scenery, you just never know what you might see while you're there so keep your eyes open and your camera ready!
