Amidst all the gloom and doom can we be happy when we see some growth signs?

Yesterday as I took the AZ 101 heading North in the West Valley I noticed an electronic high tech bill board structure was being constructed on the West Side of the highway just north of the Glendale Ave exit. (close to the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Cardinals and the Superbowl in 2008) It hadn't even occurred to me that the entire west valley loop of the 101 including as it curves to the NE by the Bell Corridor and up to the I-17 interchange there are no billboards! While some would argue that it's a much needed break from all the advertising we're forced to view on a daily basis I couldn't but feel just a bit of excitement. Wow, a billboard, another possible sign of growth amidst all the gloom and doom!
