Taliesin West
The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation was established in 1940 by Frank Lloyd Wright, one of America's most prolific architects whose life and career extended from the steam age to the space age.
As the only organization founded by Wright to be the repository of his life's work and ideas and the first to bear his name, Taliesin was built to help 21st century society adopt a more innovative and humane approach to design and construction - one that better marries architecture with the arts, sciences, and the natural environment to create buildings and spaces that enrich the quality and dignity of everyday life.
Taliesin West is at the foot of the McDowell Mountains in North Scottsdale. Surrounded by suburban development, Taliesin West remains one of the few estates in the Phoenix metropolitan area which has been able to preserve desert, mountain and open space for the benefit of its undergraduate and graduate programs in Architecture, K-12 students, scholars and visitors.
