JUST DOING MY JOB AS A REALTOR
I just wanted to share a story with you all. I host a very popular radio show named Real Estate and Beyond on KKNT 960 AM Saturdays from 12-2PM Phoenix time. Please visit www.960realestate.com for further information. I have been hosting the radio show for the last three years and counting. I love doing radio because that is my FUN day. I get to talk about important real estate topics allowing me to be the local expert here in Phoenix. I have obtained quite the following over the last three years. My tag line on the show is "Make the Call, Set the Plan, and Do the Deal$."
Well, I receive many calls during the week from people seeking my advice and assistance on purchasing real estate. Recently, I had a woman calling me to explain that she was having a hard time on finding a home for her disabled son. She further explained that she had a friend helping her but was not really helping her. Why? She informed me that is was because of the purchase price of $60,000. The real estate agent was not servicing her needs.
Shocking: I do not refuse work because grandpa said "Do not refuse work because it may not be there tomorrow." I have always lived by that statement. I informed her that it was not best to use a friend in a real estate transaction because they will take advantage of the friendship and not work as hard for the business in which was this case.
So, I told her that I will find her a home. I set her up to receive homes that met her criteria via the Multiple Listing Service. She received nine homes that met her criteria. I told her to call me if she would like to view a home. It was like they did not want to bother me. So, they have been receiving homes for the last three weeks. I called them throughout the week to follow up on their progress. This builds relationship with the client through Emails and phone.
I got the call on Thursday. They found a house and they wish to see the inside of it. I was at the house in one hour after receiving the call. I met Dad and his son for the first time. They were surprised that I would show them the house. I informed them it was my job. They very much appreciated me showing them the house. Did I mention that their son was a Veteran who served in the military? So, they told me that they would discuss it as a family if they wish to put an offer on the property. Did I mention this was a CASH DEAL?
I received a call one hour later that they would like to put in an offer. I contacted the listing agent informing him of the situation. I met them at their house to write up the offer and to collect the escrow check. I submitted the offer last night. There is a pretty good chance that the contract will be accpeted.
