Major link between Apache Junction and Queen Creek nearing completion

The widening portion of the Ironwood Drive/Gantzel Road project is nearing completion. According to Pinal County officials, the 4 lane road will be open in the next several weeks up to Guadalupe Road. With the exception of the bridge being built over the CAP canal, the project is getting closer to becoming a reality. There is still one portion of the road that is in the design and land acquisition phase between Bella Vista and Hunt Hiway to the south. On the north end of the project Ironwood Drive will be closed twice nightly in the coming weeks between 8 pm and 5 am in order to allow steel gurdur's to be installed on the bridge.

Once completed this major roadway will become the much long anticipated link between Queen Creek and Apache Junction by way of US 60. This will allow much of the traffice from northeast Queen Creek to commute more efficiently and quickly to the US 60 interchange on Ironwood Drive and should lessen the fatal accidents that this roadway has become know for. With this project completed the time to get to Queen Creek should be lessened severely, opening up long awaited links to areas of Queen Creek some folks just simply ignored.

I look forward to this link benefiting northern Pinal County and the towns of Queen Creek and Apache Junction as well as Mesa. I know it will make selling real estate in northeastern Queen Creek more pleasurable once we have a major roadway to get us to and from these areas of Northern Pinal County.

I agree with you there and more commercial lending will be needed for the new business being built around that area. Win Win for everybody
