Arizona Humane Society Annual People Savings Pets Walk - February 19th, Tempe Town Lake

Annual People Saving Pets Walk at Tempe Town Lake

The annual People Saving Pets Walk in Tempe is fast approaching. This fun event sponsored by the Arizona Humane Society and PetSmart is Sunday, February 19. In addition to the 5K walk and the mile walk, there will be pet adoptions and other fun events for adults and pets.

The walks will have watering stations and potties along the way and, if you or your 4 legged friend can't make the entire distance, there are shuttles for assistance.

Here are a few guidelines to keep you and your 4 legged friend safe:

Friendly, well-mannered pets are welcome to attend. Everyone must abide by the following rules for animals at the event:

  • Female dogs in heat are not allowed to participate.
  • Animals must be at least 4 months old to participate, and all pets must be fully vaccinated (including rabies). Puppies must be vaccinated against parvo and distemper.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times.
  • Retractable-type leashes are not allowed.
  • Dogs who are aggressive toward people or other animals are not permitted to participate.
  • Companion animals other than dogs should be safely contained or leashed, and the event should be as enjoyable for them as it is for the pet parent.
  • We strongly suggest that all pets have current identification in the form of a tag and/or microchip.

For more information or to donate for this great cause, check out the Petsmart site: PetSmart event page

The goal this year is to reach at least $5000 to help out our great Arizona Humane Society (AHS.)
