While I realize many are moving here from everywhere, it's amazing to see on paper. In the past month, I've worked with someone from Northern California, from Canada, from Connecticut and from Michigan. It seems that the property taxes (which are about 1% here - compared to much more in the east) is one of the draws to our state as well as our climate and lower prices for housing. We welcome everyone from those colder climates to come to our beautiful and warm and sunny state, Arizona! ;-)

Teri- WOW, that is a lot of growth in a very short time, sounds like a lot of our areas too!
Katerina, it is a lot of growth. Between July 2006 and July 2007, Maricopa was the fastest growing county in the country. Lots and lots and lots of people are moving here. We have the heat, but no mosquitos, very little humidity, and lower taxes. Good reasons to come to Arizona. Why don't you come on over? ;-)
Teri, out of town buyers are seeing tremendous value in our market while the residents are still steeped in the pessimistic view of their troubled neighbors. I've even found the out of town buyers to be much less concerned with values even though they are buying here for value. Sometimes people are just too close to the tree to see the forest.
Teri - Not too shabby that you work in an area growing so much. I can understand why so many people would want to be there with the awesome weather you have :)
Hi Teri,
The property tax is very inticing and add the wonderful climate and beauty of the area, the result is lots of business for you, I think!
Hey Teri ~ Nice growth, good for you! When you are done working so hard, come to Minnesota for a vacation!LOL
Hey Teri ~ Nice growth, good for you! When you are done working so hard, come to Minnesota for a vacation!LOL
Mark, you are absolutely right on. When my out of town buyers come into town, they're blown away about what they can get for their money.
Bill, you're right. It was in the 80's today! ;-)
Cynthia, one can only hope! Lots of people moving here though!!
Marzena, that sounds like fun!! ;-) I've never been there, so it sounds like fun!!
Wow, those are incredible numbers! I wonder what is happening to the populations of some of our east coast states?
I read that according to the Census Bureau that Phoenix will be the third largest city in the US within 10 years or so. I am glad I am in Tucson. LOL
Marlene, yep they are AND I read that Maricopa was THE FASTEST growing county from July 2006-2007. People are finding out all about how cool (hot) it is here. ;-)
Richard, I think you're right about that......Although, we are spread out a lot.......it is a lot of people!!
Teri-you never know...if I could live anywhere in the U.S. it would be Arizona!
Midori, you're always welcome!! I think you would love it!
Those are shocking statistics there!
Hey Sally girl, yep........it's definitely growing in leaps and bounds here in our sunny state! ;-)
Teri,
I didn't know you sold property in Pinal County! I do loans in Pinal, and actually have an appraiser who will go up there! We're practically neighbors! LOL
Mike in Tucson
Mike, pretty much in the Queen Creek and Gold Canyon area.......;-) I'm located just about 20 minutes from Johnson Ranch in far east Mesa!!!
Well, you're still one of my favorites on Active Rain, Teri. And I love the signature!

Mike, thank you so much. Is it loading any faster, or still hanging up for you?
I subscribe to you 'cause I like your articles as well. ;-)
Wow! In another lifetime I used to teach Science, and I started teaching in Coolidge. It was a very small town at the time. I'm told it has REALLY changed. Makes it good for Real Estate.
Leslie, I totally relate. When I grew up here, my mom would drop off my sisters and me, and we could catch a movie, cartoons, popcorn, etc. for about 25 cents. Things have definitely changed. I can remember when..........a lot of things. ;-)
And Pinal County is BEAUTIFUL! I love that you have, in many locations, mountain views in every direction.
Chuck, it is beautiful. Arizona is beautiful - don't you think! ;-)
Yes Teri- it's great this time of year... especially the orange blossoms, I love it.
Chuck, love the orange blossoms. I have a tree right outside of my office window and enjoy the fragrance since they're blooming. I'll be you really get them in your area! ;-)
