I just picked up a new designation, SRES. It stands for Senior Real Estate Specialist and is designed to 
teach realtors about issues concerning seniors and soon to be retirees. One of the first things the instructor talked about is how the vast majority of baby boomers don't even want to be associated with the word "senior". He also talked about how a huge percentage of baby boomers have no intention of permanently retiring.
Not a big surprise to me because... you guessed it, I'm a baby boomer! And most of my clients fit the bill too.
I just came across a survey that AARP, with the help of Focalyst, put together called, How Well Do You Know Baby Boomers? Counting Down the Top 10 Boomer Myths. Some of you may have already seen it. But in case you haven't, click HERE. For the gen-Xers and younger, you might be surprised by what you read. For the baby boomers much of this information will come as no surprise.

I think the survey makes complete sense. I look at my parents and friends parents and some of them are starting new families with little ones. They are on the move more then ever.

Heather & Chapman Realty - Most of the clients I work with who are looking to purchase a home in either Sun City Grand or one of the other active adult communities, fit this to a tee. Many are still working and most are interested in these communities because of the activities made available to them to remain active & vibrant.

I guess I'm pretty typical but there were a few surprises for me! 25% don't have life insurance!
