Last night my husband and I and friends, went to the fireworks celebration here in the White Mountains. There were TONS of people and cars, and it took us awhile to find a spot to park and sit.
I had read a couple of articles on shooting fireworks, primed my Nikon D70S and 18-200 lens, my point and shoot Sony, AND my flip video..... Here are just some of the results. It's so interesting NOT using, but in fact, turning OFF the flash, and setting the ISO to 100...very slow. These were fun to take, but I need a tripod and a remote....and a LOT of practice!!! AND lessons! ;-)
I hope all of you enjoyed celebrating America's 232nd birthday yesterday!
After I load up the video, I share it here....;-)

WOW Teri, AWESOME first 'attempt'....these are beautiful!
Excellent shots! Photographing fireworks is a challenge!
So I guess I can count you in to be featured on future AR wallpapers??? Seriously great stuff Teri. As Cheryl said, fireworks are tough to capture. You done good!
These are quite good for a first attempt. I am jealous, I am not in theWhite Mountains.
I may be up in Pine next weekend, however.
Mary, thank you. It was a lot of fun to try out different buttons on my camera. ;-)
Cheryl, thanks so much. I took sooooo many of them, and it was a learning curve, but I love the different formations that I captured. Hopefully by next year, I'll have the additional knowledge I need to be better. ;-)
Marti, I'll check out your wallpaper blogpost better...to see what I need to do. Thank you Marti, I appreciate it. ;-)
Bill, thank you as well. I plan to get some lessons or a class on this stuff....Pine is also very pretty...it's beautiful here today....doubt if it even reached 70.....rained, and overcast much of the day. Very nice...;-)
TERI, Those ARE GREAT!! My husband got some great shots last night also. I plan on putting them in a real estate show but just have not got to it.
Marchel, thanks so much. Can't wait to see your photos. I plan to put some of the others in an RES as well...first, the video. Now I'll have a good collection of my own fireworks photos. ;-)
Terry: Very nice pictures. I wish I could click my heals and be there in the cool pines.
Teri, Very good pictures of your 4th celebration God Bless America. I also think it is time that WE Bless America.
Teri, WOW! Great job on the 4th fireworks photos. Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
Leolinda, just so you know, my name is spelled, Teri...not Terry ;-) Thanks for dropping by...and try clicking those heals. It is beautiful here.
Don Thank you so much....I love America, and this was a great opportunity to practice my photographic skill. ;-)
Gary, thank YOU!! You are welcome...any time. ;-)
I would show my my fireworks photos but... well... you'd wonder if they really were fireworks photos. I need to take a class.
Terry...(just kidding!) Teri, very nice job. You did quite well! The last four are my favorite. :)
Cheers, -B
Teri, Those are fantastic photos, but remember practice could make you ruin your expertise - first time or not, Karen
Chuck, maybe they could be used for something else? ;-) I need to take a class too.....
Bryce, ;-) Thank you very much - it means a lot coming from you....
Karen, thank you for the kind words. I do want to learn more about what my little camera will do. Love it! ;-)
Teri--As someone who has tried time and again to capture fireworks, I have to give you kudos at this first attempt. They are tough shots to get and you did wonderful! ;)
Still waiting for the video!! :-)
Teri, thanks...it was fun. I just held up the camera and pushed and clicked.....not too bad, huh?
Ronald, I don't think it turned out all that well, though I did upload it to You Tube. ;-)
