I went to a class today to learn what our new MLS will be offering. I cannot imagine being in that class and having no knowledge of how the internet works, how blogs work, or how to get around on websites. It is amazing the stuff our new MLS will do. I was sitting with my mouth open with disbelief. It will be wonderful! It has live tutorials, pdf files to read if you like to do that, and even tutorials for your buyers who have a password and user name - that you provide - in order to search for their specific favorites. It is absolutely amazing. All of your users and contact information come over.....
Only listings back to 2000 will be included.
I like the fact that I can - and have - already profiled myself with my photo, with my email information, etc. We can do that now. We just go to: www.armls.flexmls.com and enter our user name - the same as we do now -, then our current password, and login. Our profile page allows us to update our personal contact information or change passwords.
Another thing I like? It works with the current version of Firefox and with IE - AND - Firefox for Macintosh OS 10.x for those that use Mac.....
Another thing I REALLY like? I can change colors of the layout...........wouldn't you know I'd like THAT? ;-)
Okay, this will be officially ready on Monday the 28th, and in fact, some of the data has already been transferred over. From what I understand, we will not be able to add any photos or make any changes or add any listings as of midnight on the 24th....
I think this is the third time the MLS has been updated since I've been on board.

Teri - thank you for the reminder to get my profile set up. I actually sat down two hours ago to do this but decided to get lost here instead.
Teri, It sounds like you are really enthused with the MLS upgrade. I hope it is everything you expect it to be. AJ
Teri- Yeah! It works with Firefox! How amazing is that! It is about time MLS crawls out from under the rocks they live under:)
Teri, glad your MLS system is getting a refresh. Your technology gurus there in Arizona must be on the ball. I just knew you would be all excited about color schemes. That's cause you are so colorful ; ) And that Firefox browser you are so fond of works too... Yipee.
Teri - thanks for the active link by the way (it did save me from having to type it in to the address bar but this post just killed the time and effort saved) Thanks anyway!!
Our MLS is still in the semi-dark ages. We still don't have a way to tag short sales and foreclosures. HELLO...
Anyway...let me guess...your customization will include something blue? (hehe)
Teri, I remember when our MLS went through some changes and upgrades. It was upsetting and exciting at the same time. Best of luck with your new and improved MLS.
Teri,
Sounds like a good decision on the part of your MLS. Our MLS is about to make some big changes too, but we're not quite sure what they will be. Scary!
I wish we would updateour MLS still only can log on from IE, which sucks!! I am a MAC user! Glad you can change your profile layout!
Hi Teri - You are right about staying on top of technology. Nice to here you will have a new and improved MLS. I am sure it will make a big difference in ease of use.
Teri--Isn't it amazing that there are so many agents that have no clue as to what the internet can really do? I have attended some classes at our local MLS and it is very tedious as the instructor will often have to explain how to log on! The board keeps adding bells and whistles for the agents that have some computer saavy but there are so many being left behind...Congrats to you being on the cutting edge!!
Hi Teri, it's going to be great and I think it's going to be a great platform for the cream to rise to the top! We just have to get into it and learn more about the new system than 90% of the other agents.
Sounds like your MLS is leaps and bounds ahead of us here, Teri. Kudos to them for staying up to date with the new technology, especially for Firefox users. I love the idea of being able to give a client a password to do their own searches!
Oooooo, I am so jealous, Teri. Your MLS works with Firefox on a Mac? How wonderful. How utterly smart. The only way I can access my MLS in Sacramento is to fire up Parallels and use Windows XP, which I detest. I wish Metrolist would move into the 21st Century.
Teri, do I dare to guess what your featur color might be? Red, by any chance?! :)
Mark, isn't it very cool? Glad you're getting your profile set up!;-)
AJ, I think it has so many awesome tools - including, sorting via short sale, bank owned, auctions, etc. Love that feature.;-)
Katerina, you're so right!!! Finally, I don't have to switch back and forth between IE and FF on the MLS....;-)
Gary, you are right too. You know I like color...;-) But, the only one that will see it - for now - is me, I think. ;-)
Melina, that's one of the things I really like - being able to sort short sales, REO, etc. Very important to me. ;-) Blue? Hmmmmmm, let me think on that....I'll get back to you. ;-)
Mana, I live and breathe for the changes.....love the updated version of anything, truly. I'm even loving my new version of Windows.....;-)
Cynthia, we just have to learn where all of the stuff is....and how to do it. With those of us on AR learning so many cool little tricks and joining so many social groups, it'll be a breeze...;-)
Jeannette, I think there are a lot out there using MAC....this will be a good upgrade for them as well.
Bill, it is simply amazing the way the new program works. I am in awe. ;-)
Teri, it is really exciting.....can't wait to jump in......;-)
Kathy, that is definitely true.....learn, learn, learn. The new version doesn't have the gateway, but it does have another cool feature that will work very much the same. ;-)
Lisa, isn't that great? Arizona is a pretty savvy state! Lots of smart people here. ;-)
Elizabeth, I remember while living in California, that many of the cool things - like food, or whatever - that they had in Arizona - was not available in California. Maybe we're just a "with it" state? ;-)
Marzena, LOL....you are psychic aren't you? HOW did you know? ;-)
what a joke!!!
flexmls sucks, it constantly hangs up my computer, says, "LOADING" for days on end and never loads anything. The search page has guest house size as a field, but no zip, until you click under other tabs, which half the time fail to load. Yeah guest house size is a big search item, nobody cares about zip!!!
i just called the help line 10 times, and it hangs up on you without ever answering.
This is a change for the worst, dumbbutt above believed the hype at the training...
I think it is a bit weary today....having some of the same problems. ;-)

Sounds like there are a lot of issues with the new FlexMLS. Lots of things they are introducing have already been done with other applications. I dont think its very user friendly and watching the instruction video made me want to jump off a bridge. I would recommend that all agents in the Phoenix area go to the ARMLS tech fair on the 21st and 22nd at westworld in scottsdale. I think you will see a few alternatives for the FlexMLS. FlexMLS will also be doing some training on the application at the show as well. Come check it out.

Chris, there are always issues when updating or changing any software including the MLS. I am definitely figuring my way around.....;-)
