Host a Wine & Cheese Open Tour of your Staging Project

Rooms Rearranged and Sherry Olnhausen from Keller Williams hosted a Wine & Cheese Open House. It was open to Realtors, Mortgage Brokers, Builders, Active Rain Members and the public.

A good time was had by all. I'm proud to say one of our own AR members (Candace Robinson) walked away with the first gift of the evening.

For those of you that have never tried this type of marketing I say do it! It was great fun and we were able to meet many people in our industry. Of course, we had staged this vacant spec. that was built by Palacia Homes.

We should all take every opportunity to network with each other. It was also a great way to show off our staging project so Realtors and homeowners know exactly what they are getting.

(Candace, Debbie & Vicki) -Candace takes her gift with a smile.

This great home is located in Tempe, AZ in a gated community nestled off the beaten path but within minutes of shopping and dining. Call Sherry for all the details of this beauty.

Make connections whenever you can. This is definitely a great way to do it!

Debbie,  I've been trying to learn more about hosting open houses. They seem to be a little different in each market.  Have you hosted them before? Who pays for advertising?  Was this one done in the evening? Sorry I have so many questions, but I posted about this and have only had a few answers. Yours looks like it was very successful!

Glad to hear the event was such a success for you.  I recently participated in just such an event with the same results.  Great networking opportunity and canvas to show off your work.  Great idea Debbie!

Donna - Yes, we have hosted them before.  The Realtor did all the advertising - I did a post on AR.  We started at 4:30 pm and went to 7:00 pm.  We wanted people to be able to stop in after work.  The builder and Realtor did the food (finger foods) but it was set-up very nicely in the kitchen.  Our company provided the wine.  Their were handout bags for everyone with the builders information - the Realtors information - a lending company and our cards and brochures.  I think some of the gifts were donated by a lender and the builder.  It was hard work but all the comments on our staging was wonderful.  It's nice when everyone gets to see it in person.  Of course we had all the secondary lighting on and the music playing in the background.

Michele - Thanks.  Glad to hear yours was also a success!

A smart & hands on approach to marketing your services.   Who can say no to wine and cheese? I may have to try it!

I am glad your open house was a great success!  Wine & Cheese is right up my alley!  Mixing business with pleasure sounds like a winning combo.  Thanks for sharing your marketing success.

Angela - Try it - what do you have to lose.  It was really fun....I think the wine helped.  Not too much though, you don't want anyone spilling it on your furniture.

Janice - Thanks Janice.  Girl - You know I'm coming there one day to taste your California wine.  How many wineries are close to you?

Are you ready for this?  Around 30 the last time I counted.  I am a creature of habit though....I mostly go to my few(4) favorites!  I'm ready for you!! :)

Debbie,

This is a great marketing idea. It works especially well when it's the 1st open.

Debbie,  Was this the first Open House for the property and is that the best way to do this? Have you tried using the "local Artist" in your staged homes. I am seeing some stagers do this. It raises some liability questions for me but love the idea... Best wishes

Dee - No, it was not the first Open House for the property but it was the first Open after the staging.  We have not tried using local artist but that might be something we consider in the future.  Thanks for commenting.
