A New York retired couple, Betty and Bob Matas, did not want to fly with their cats to their new home in Sedona, AZ., so they befriended a yellow cab driver and the three made plans to drive across country, approximately 2400 miles. The couple are paying the driver $3,000 plus gas, meals and lodging. The three began their trip on April 10th from the couple's Queens Forest Hills neighborhood. Their belongings are arriving separately by a mover and their cats have the back seat. The trip should take approximately four days with the Matas' arriving this weekend. Luckily the SUV Cab is a hybrid so gas will cost approx. $300 each way. According to the AP, the metered fare for the trip would have cost approx. $5000 each way. See what peope will do to get to Sedona? Have a safe trip and welcome!!!
