As of April 24, 2007 the Sedona City Council approved the increase of building permits more than 100% from $1535.00 for a 3,000 s.f. home to $3,528.00. Prior to this increase the last increase for Sedona was March of 2002. The average cost per s.f. in Sedona is $350.00 for a 3,000 s.f. home said councilman Harvey Stern. The proposal passed with a 6-1 vote with the Vice Mayor Jerry Frey voting against.
At the same meeting a new subdivision was approved in the Chapel area that will be called Seven Vistas and will have nine homes on approx. five acres. It will be located at the corner of Lynx and Badger Drive. This request was approved 7-0.
A proposal was denied to allow not-for-profit organizations permanent approval to serve free liquor at city parks.
