New Real Estate Sign Regulations in Rio Verde

The Rio Verde Community Association (RVCA) Board of Directors recently approved a new policy regarding the use of real estate signs. The policy was adopted to comply with a new state law regarding real estate signs. Rio Verde residents may obtain a copy of the new sign policy at the RVCA office at the Community Center.

The new policy allows for only one "For Sale" sign per property. The size of the sign should not exceed 18-inches by 24-inches. Signs must be professionally produced (hand lettering or stenciling will not be permitted). The sign may be placed inside a front window or it can be affixed to a sign post in the front yard. Posts can be made of wooden, metal or composite material consisting of a vertical post no higher than 48-inches above the ground, and one horizontal post no longer than 36-inches. There may also be one rider and one information tube or box attached.

In consideration of utility easements, signs may not be placed any closer than 10-feet from the street in front of the property. Exceptions to this may be granted by the architectural committee on a case by case basis. If an exception is obtained, the property owner will be responsible for contacting Blue Stake for utility markings prior to installation of the sign.

In the case of townhouses that have no visible front window, the sign may be attached to the front of the carport or garage at a height no greater than eight feet.

Residents should contact the RVCA with questions about the new sign policy.
