I love hiking, and I have written several times how I like to look at homes in Scottsdale AZ while I walk to the trails I like to hike, from the Lost Dog trailhead into the McDowell Mountain Preserve.
This week I was in upstate New York, in the Adirondacks. The hiking here is pretty different, in that in Phoenix there is little moisture, and almost nothing is wet. Here, though, everything is wet. In Phoenix, there is lots of dirt. Here, there is no dirt -- it is all decayed plant matter and moss, they call it "duff".
The vistas are beautiful, just in a different way. Both places are wonderful!
