Scottsdale Job Network Social Network

Jim Clark asked me to send a note to everyone explaining a little bit about the Social Network that was recently set up on for Scottsdale Job Network

Ning.com was started by Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini in October 2004 to give everyone the opportunity to create their own social networks for anything.

Social networks provide a lot more functionality to users than simple mailing lists and much more user interaction than a simple web site can.

The Scottsdale Job Network social network enable users who chose to interact in Networking Groups and discussion forums to do so. It enables easy photo uploading and sharing, event listings, quick and easy blogging, video integration and much more. The mailing list is still here and the website is still available but this provides another mechanism for members to help each other in the career transition and job search process.

If the current participants of the http://scottsdalejobnetwork.ning.com/ would like to comment on their experience with the SJN social network, that might help some of the other members get better acquainted with it and begin using it to interact and participate at a higher level.
