It might be hard to imagine that a small city the size of Sedona would actually have a bedroom community. But it's true. The Village of Oak Creek is Sedona's beautiful sister, located approximately eight miles south.

This sleepy residential community was settled by farmers and ranchers in the late 1800s. Today, it is a peaceful retreat for tourist and is known for its hiking, biking, and golf.

The Village, as it is commonly called by locals, lies cradled by the red rocks, Wild Horse Mesa, and House Mountain. As you drive along the heart of the Village, Hwy 179, the views may seem vaguely familiar. Well, if you are a western movie fan, then you've probably seen this area on the big screen. It's been a popular location for movies for many years.
