America's best places to live??

OK..... Have you seen Relocate-America.com's annual top 10 list of America's best places to live? I read an article today about this topic and could'nt disagree more. Below are the top 10 cities on Relocate-America.com's "America's Top 100 Places to Live for 2007":

  1. Asheville, N.C.
  2. Traverse City, Mich.
  3. Ithaca, N.Y.
  4. Chicago
  5. Cary, N.C.
  6. Portland, Maine
  7. San Francisco
  8. Stevens Point, Wis.
  9. O'Fallon, Mo.
  10. Spencer, Iowa

I am sure that these are fine cities.....but if you have never been to Sierra Vista or Arizona in general, you don't know what your missing. This is a fantastic state with some of the most beautiful scenery and the best people I ever met. I may be a little prejudiced, but I hope those of you who never witnessed the amazing Grand Canyon, seen a sunset in the desert or been awed by the Cartchner Caverns.......you have truly missed something to behold.

I could not imagine a better place to raise my children. So I vote for Arizona to be added to the list.

What about your city?? Why should your city be on the list?????

I live in a small Maryland town named Havre de Grace that often shows up on lists of the best places to live.   I just spent several days in Traverse City and can see why it's on the list you wrote about.  I tend to favor very small towns over large cities.

We have been on a lot of top 10 lists and it seems that all we got was more traffic and higher real estate prices. This may the the downsize to being on the list.

When I first moved to Charlottesville, my neighbor sat me down and (this is the truth) said to me:

"Ok, now that you are here, shut the gate!"

Ahem....Hawaii?  Maybe it has something to do with the high cost of living and outrageous home prices.

That's funny, because Money also just came out with their "Best Places to Live in 2007" and their top ten is totally different.  I think it depends on who is writing the article and what their criteria is. For me, it's definitely Arizona.

Norma.....

I highly reccomend you visit Sierra Vista. We are at 4000 feet above sea level and our year round temps are great in my opinion.
