OK, I need some help. I am working on a farm letter and need some help. I don't know if I am on the right track. I want to send out farm letters and follow-up with a personal visit to introduce myself. Here is the letter I have written and want to know what you guys think.
Mr. & Mrs. John Doe,
"Just a note to say hello. I am excited to tell you that I am a residential real estate specialist in Cochise County. If you are thinking of buying or selling real estate, I want to be your Realtor.
You may find many agents who want your business as much as I do, but you won't find a more trustworthy real estate professional; focused, dedicated and accountable than me. Choose me as your realtor and you are choosing the entire Haymore Real Estate network.
Haymore Real Estate is one of the best Real Estate Companies in Sierra Vista, AZ. The benefits of allowing me to handle your property are many. However, the most important is that I am a full time professional, and have the tools and knowledge to assist you with your needs, thereby relieving you of a potentially stressful situation.
If you, or someone you know, are thinking about a real estate sale or purchase, please don't hesitate to give me a call at (520)227-6694.
In closing, please call when I can be of service to you, and I look forward to working with you as a preferred customer.
I love to Sell Real Estate - Make it a great day!!!"
Sincerely,
Brad Snyder

The only thing I can see "wrong" with your letter is that it's all about you. Again, wrong is in quotes because everyone approaches things differently and there is no right or wrong. I would say something like "You've heard all the hype in the media about today's housing market, let me give you my point of view" or "I'd be more than happy to chat with you about the state of the Real Estate market and in particular what you could expect should you decide to make a move" Something that's giving back to them. Let them know that you'll be in the area on such and such a day and would love to meet them in person.
Just my $.02, but I'm not a farmer. :-)
John,
That is great advice and I appreciate the input. Thanks.
OK...... I took John's advice and changed the letter. How is this one:

Hi, Yes it is important to show what benefits and value you can bring to the client in your letter. Frankly, they don't care about you...they only care about what is in it for them. What can they benefit from using you. The objective is....everyone knows about the old man in the little red suite that comes every december and delivers gifts. For instance everyone in my area knows that i specialize in farm and ranch, raw land (got to love that dirt) so they know I and experienced in zoning laws, and all the pros and con about farm and ranch. I am just like my clients in so many ways because I too live on a ranch. Find you niche and then go to town with it.
