It did not help that the dam burst a month ago on July 20, releasing a billion gallons of water into the dry river downstream.
The local Arizona agency put the replacement project on hold to understand why the rubber bladders failed. Make sense to check it out. There may be a bigger problem the lake is facing.
A replacement rubber bladder was in the process of being installed into the proper lake position a few days ago. Those bad boys are 40 tons each, and the dam take 4 of them.
The City has a deadline of November 1 to get the project finished for the Ironman race of November 21. Will they make it? Not sure, but the city is trying real hard.
It is one thing to get the dam up and working. But then you have to fill the lake. Any idea now long that will take??
Hope it works! I have a friend who is training for this Ironman, and he thinks (or rather hopes) it will be done in time.
