Breast Cancer Awareness Ride In Tucson

In partnership with Trek Women, Trek Bicycles of Tucson is hosting the Breast Cancer Awareness Ride this coming Saturday, October 10th. The ride is a non-competitive, family-friendly fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). This is part of a national effort that aims to increase awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by encouraging women, men, and children of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day, at the same time, all over the country. Read on for more information, and please feel free to spread the word far and wide. Sincerely, John Bilderbeck

What, when, & how:

  • 10 and 25 mile ride options available. We've designed two fun, light-traffic routes within central Tucson. Each ride option will have leaders, sag riders, and a support vehicle.

  • You don't have to fund-raise. Proceeds simply come from your $25 registration fee (100% of which goes to the BCRF).

  • Meet at our store at Ft. Lowell and Campbell at 9-9:30 for registration, gift bags, and ride prep. The ride will leave the store at 10 AM.

  • Directions: We're located on the southwest corner of the Ft. Lowell/Campbell Ave intersection, (in the same shopping center as Blockbuster Video), next door to Rosa's Mexican Food. 1740 E. Ft. Lowell Rd, Suite 100

  • Register in person at the store between 9 and 9:30 am or ahead of time at: https://event-manager.compete-at.com/Manager/event/home.do?eid=1491

Questions:

Q: Is the ride for women only? A: No. The ride is for anyone who wants to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.

Q: How hard is the ride? A: The 25 mile route has some easy-to-moderate climbing and rollers near the beginning of the ride around Sunrise Dr. The second half of the ride is moderately flat. The 10 mile route stays on a mostly flat circuit closer toward the University.

Q: Can I register the day-of the event? A: Yes. You may register up until the day before the ride through https://event-manager.compete-at.com/Manager/event/home.do?eid=1491 . Our shop will also have Day-Of Registration forms available

Q: Who can I call for more information? A: Anyone at Trek Bicycles of Tucson should be able to tell you more about the event. Call us at (520) 327-2265 to inquire more or to let us know you're going to join us!
